Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Same developer as Donkey Kong?[edit]

It seems like very recently, the Western online world has caught wind of rumor, if not fact, that both Donkey Kong and Congo Bongo were actually programmed by the same programming subcontractor Ikegami Tsushinki. (I remember reading, possibly on N-Sider.com, that Nintendo was actually sued by Ikegami Tsushinki for giving Donkey Kong source code to another subcontractor to program Donkey Kong Jr.)

If someone felt inclined to get legitimate sources together (and please do get legitimate sources together), it might be worth mentioning more explicitly in the article that some of the gameplay similarities between the two games may stem from the (alleged) fact that the same people programmed the both of them!--69.153.102.247 (talk) 09:29, 11 January 2009 (UTC)

Prevalence of a fake screen shot of something looking just like Congo Bongo or it's Congo Bongo itself, just being used as an example screen packaged on new TV's? or is it new consoles?[edit]

It seems like there is a fake screen shot that is actually an artist's drawn picture, of Congo Bongo, that is often used as a reference image or stock clip art, of just 'any video game' on packaging for like new TV's or certain new consoles.Has anyone noticed this? It's not actually Congo Bongo but meant to look really similar. It's become like the fake Latin script thing for Font examples, yet in this case for video game images. But it would be really hard to attribute it so I am just leaving this fact on the Talk page.

I have to say I find it amusing to be adding this bit at the same time as seeing that a genuine image of Congo Bongo caused so much fuss over Fair Use above. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.35.42.230 (talk) 22:38, 31 October 2018 (UTC)

Summary 00798: congo: Sound glitch since the zaxxon.c rewrite.
Description External samples for Congo Bongo are playing very strangely since the zaxxon.c driver rewrite. It broke somewhere between 0.107u2 and 0.108 but they were working perfect in 0.107u1.
gorilla.wav - it should play one time at game power-on (initialize) and should play five times during gameplay (5 seconds after game startup, then always five times every time the gorilla walks off to the next stage) The rest of the samples... bass.wav rim.wav congah.wav and congal.wav are all being played but are all seriously muffled. You will clearly hear the difference between 0.113 and when they were working accurately in 0.107u1 by listening to the test modes I recorded between the two MAME versions.
Attachments contain startup gorilla.wav placement, attract modes, and bonus original pcb recordings are also included for reference. Thanks.
